Chalet Belle Source B...
Once the oldest hotel in Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle, Chalet Belle Source B and its sister apartment, Chalet Belle Source A, are the result of a careful renovation. Built in 1810, this historic building boasts the charming original façade, a central location and exceptional views of the valley.
The villages of Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle and Flumet (2km away) provide easy access to the Espace Diamant, Val d'Arly and Portes du Mont-Blanc ski areas. The elegant resort of Megève is only 12km away.
Outside the ski season, the charming lake in Flumet (2.4km) is the ideal place to swim or relax with a picnic. With a playground, skatepark, multi-sports ground and café, it has everything you need for a great family day out.
There are several restaurants to choose from in the two villages, as well as shops offering everything you need for your stay. Flumet has a small supermarket and a delicatessen, and there are large supermarkets in Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe (6km) and Praz-sur-Arly (7km).
Large groups: Larger groups of up to 14 guests can book both Chalet Belle Source A and Chalet Belle Source B.
About the property…
Chalet Belle Source B can accommodate six guests, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms over two floors.
The entrance is via a staircase, which leads directly into the living room. This is where you'll find a cosy seating area with a sofa, television and wood-burning stove, as well as a modern, fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and a dining table.
Doors open onto two balconies, one of which has a dining table for al fresco meals. The other has two armchairs where you can relax and take in the incredible views of the Val d'Arly.
The first bedroom, which has a 130cm bed, with a single bunk over, is on this floor. A third bunk is used as a sofa and will be perfect to watch TV. There are two more bedrooms on the ground floor. One of them has a single bed and a 130cm bed, while the other is a double bedroom with a 160cm bed, a private shower room and WC. Both bedrooms open onto the garden. There is also a second shower room with WC.
You will finally find room to park two cars outside the building.
Please note: due to the open stairs, the apartment is not suitable for families with babies and toddlers. There are also stairs to the apartment, making it unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.
About the area…
Guests staying at Chalet Belle Source B in the winter will enjoy easy access to numerous ski slopes. The Flumet/Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle resort is part of the Val d'Arly ski area, which has 90km of slopes.
A free shuttle bus takes you to Les Évettes, which is part of the Espace Diamant ski area (192km of pistes). The Espace Diamant ski pass includes Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe and Crest-Voland/Cohennoz. Those looking for more variety should head to Megève (12km) and the huge Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area, where you'll be spoilt for choice with 479km of slopes.
There is just as much to see and do outside the ski season: wonderful landscapes to explore on foot or by bike, remarkable Baroque architecture and great places to relax, such as the Flumet lake leisure centre – a memorable day out with the family.
Walkers can enjoy a gentle stroll along the banks of the Arrondine river. If you're seeking a more strenuous hike, head for the heights and tackle the 18.5km route that takes in the three peaks of Flumet. In summer, cyclists can take their bikes on the free shuttle bus that serves the Val d'Arly area. The region is renowned for its mountain passes and winding roads, which often feature in the Tour de France.

Chalet Belle Source B is a cosy apartment for six, in a recently renovated former hotel dating back to 1810. It offers three bedrooms and two bathrooms in the Val d'Arly, a region that is still relatively undiscovered, yet very close to Megève.
An external staircase leads to the apartment and into a living room decorated in relaxing, neutral shades. Here you will find a seating area with a wood-burning stove and TV, a modern, well-equipped kitchen, a breakfast bar and a dining table where you can enjoy delicious meals together.
Doors from the living area open onto two balconies – one with a dining table and the other with two armchairs, where you can sit and take in the view.
The first bedroom is on this floor.
It has a small double bed (130cm) with a single bunk over.
The top bunk is used as a sofa and will be perfect to watch TV.
Downstairs, you will find two further bedrooms, both of which open onto the garden: one with a 130cm bed and a single bed, as well as a double bedroom (160cm) with its own shower room and toilet. There's also a second shower room with a toilet.
Two cars can be parked outside the chalet, right in front of the entrance. Unfortunately, the external staircase means this property is not suitable for people with reduced mobility, and the open stairs make it unsuitable for families with toddlers and small children.

When we first discovered Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle, we instantly fell in love. The location is truly unique, surrounded by countless ski resorts around Mont Blanc, yet tucked away from the crowds in an authentic French village.
It felt like we had found a hidden gem: close enough to world-class skiing, but far enough to enjoy a quieter, slower pace of life.
As a family with four children, we’re always trying to strike the balance between their love of screens and our love of the outdoors.
This place has been the perfect answer.
In winter, we ski, sledge, and even try a bit of Nordic skiing together. When the summer comes, the options seem endless: hiking through alpine meadows, cycling, swimming, tobogganing, or just spending whole afternoons by Lake Flumet – only a 20-minute walk from the house.
The village itself is as idyllic as you could imagine. Life here still feels authentically French.
Right on our doorstep is the local café/bar, run by a wonderfully warm host who is famous across the valleys for his music nights during the summer – magical evenings of live music, laughter, and community. Restaurants are just a short walk away, which makes it easy to enjoy a good meal without getting in the car.
At home, we wanted to create a space that feels cosy, inviting, and like a home away from home. The chalet sits right in the middle of the village, and our driveway has become the children’s playground – it's perfect for badminton or ball games.
Just across the street, the boules pitch is one of our favourite spots – the perfect way to spend a quiet afternoon with a glass of rosé while the kids run around.
Other small joys have made our time here so special: exploring nearby mountain villages, picnicking in flower-filled fields, picking wild blueberries in the summer, and stargazing on crisp winter nights. Every season offers something new, and every visit reminds us why we fell in love with this place.
For us, Saint-Nicolas-la-Chapelle is more than just a destination – it’s a way of life that brings our family together, outdoors, and connected in a way that feels rare and precious.
